Jared Lurie
LMFT, Clinical Director of Operations
My Approach
It takes courage to seek the support of therapy and Jared's main objective is to create a safe and non-judgmental space for you. At his core, Jared is warm, welcoming, and compassionate, which are key in building grounded connections with each individual he meets. Jared's therapy style is patient-centered and collaborative, including modalities such as Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). He gives space to explore the "why" behind what is going on, along with identifying solutions for how to move forward.

About Jared Lurie
My Experience
Jared has an eclectic background, originating in Northbrook, IL, where he played sports and performed as a singer/actor/musician, connecting with all types of people. He attended college at Miami University and had firsthand experience working through his own mental health challenges. It shaped the course of his life and he returned to school for his Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology/Marriage and Family Therapy. Living in San Diego, Jared has been cultivating his therapeutic expertise since 2011. He’s worked at a community-based organization serving children, adolescents, and families as part of the Youth Development Department. He also has experience working at a Residential Treatment Facility for substance abuse in adults. Most recently, Jared worked at an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for five years where he became the Clinical Coordinator maintaining patients of his own, while coaching other therapists. He recently moved back to the Midwest to be closer to family and is honored to meet new patients and families at Courage to Connect.
