Dr. Nicholson highly values establishing a collaborative relationship with her patients and creating a space where they can comfortably share their thoughts and feelings. About Dr. Cara Nicholson
My Experience
Dr. Nicholson has always had a strong interest in the complexity of the human brain, behavior, and relationships, and her interest developed further while taking a brain studies class in high school. Dr. Nicholson’s compassion for others, desire to help, and value of emotional and behavioral well-being led her to pursue a degree in clinical psychology. Dr. Nicholson earned her doctorate in clinical psychology with an emphasis in child and family Studies at Roosevelt University. Her clinical experience has included psychotherapy and assessment in various settings, such as hospitals, outpatient behavioral health, community mental health, and therapeutic day schools. Dr. Nicholson enjoys working with clients of all ages, and has extensive experience treating a wide range of concerns, such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, parenting support, ADHD, trauma, grief, high functioning autism spectrum disorder, school-related struggles, interpersonal relationships, life transitions, and perinatal and postpartum adjustment concerns.
