Frequently Asked Questions
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24-hour notice for all cancellations to avoid a late cancellation fee. Please contact your provider directly to notify them of any cancellations.
Do you offer Telehealth appointments?
Yes, most of our providers offer Telehealth appointments. Please call our front office at (847) 730-3042 to see what providers are available.
Can you see me if I am located out of state?
Due to licensing guidelines, we have limited providers who can see patients who reside outside of Illinois. Please call our front office at (847) 730-3042 to see what providers are available.
Can I schedule an appointment for someone else?
If the patient is under 18 and you are the legal guardian of the minor, you can schedule an appointment for them. For patients over 18, we will need to speak with them directly to schedule an appointment. To make an appointment, please call us at (847) 730-3042 or email us at info@couragetoconnecttherapy.com.
Will insurance cover my appointments?
Our practice is in network with most BCBS PPO, Cigna PPO, Aetna PPO, and United Behavioral Health/United HealthCare PPO plans. We do not accept HMO, Medicare or Medicaid plans. To check whether your specific plan is in-network with us, you can call the customer service number on your insurance card and verify Courage to Connect is an in-network provider. Your insurance provider will be able to explain your benefit information for mental health services. Our practice does offer self-pay options for patients that do not have insurance or have an out-of-network plan.
What is an intake appointment?
At your intake appointment, your provider will begin to gather background information and discuss your treatment goals. This is an opportunity for both you and the therapist to get to know each other and determine whether it will be a good match moving forward.
I don’t feel like I have a major problem, can I still benefit from therapy?
Yes! Therapy is an opportunity for you to work on yourself, and no matter how big or small the issue is, our providers are ready to support you through it. One way to look at therapy is as exercise for your mind. Exercising your brain and mind is just as important as exercising your physical body, and our providers are ready to help you on your journey no matter where it takes you!
How do you determine which therapist is a good match for me?
Our intake team will get your background information and availability, which will aid them in determining who would be a good match for you. We consider any personal preferences you may have and will offer options that we believe will be an appropriate fit. Click here to read more about each of our providers.
Can I join my child in their therapy sessions?
Yes! At the intake appointment, you are welcome to join and give the therapist some background information and discuss specific goals or areas of focus. Typically, our providers invite parents of young children to participate in a portion or entirely of the appointment. Parents are welcome to schedule a private appointment with the therapist if more time is needed to speak in more detail. Click here to review how the child therapy appointments are structured.
